I recently made this set of three rings using my customers sapphire and diamonds, plus a lovely little tourmaline and a few more diamonds (of course!) sourced by me.
The diamond ring needed to be as narrow as possible whilst still fitting the largest diamonds and also having a ‘scattered’ effect. At first I wasn’t sure how scattered the diamonds would really be – I designed and planned for them to be more randomly spaced rather than up and down, but I was very happy with the result. The diamonds are a mix of 2mm, 1.5mm, 1.3mm and 1mm and so still give a pleasingly random up and down effect as I’ve used before in past commissions. I was given permission to set the stones wherever I liked, so I drilled some random holes to get started and then just kept adding! It was a fun project!
And here are the tourmaline and sapphire rings..
And here’s the set together…
If you’re interested in a commission please contact me to discuss, I’m happy to work with your gold and stones or source materials for you.
